Los Angeles Dodgers vs San Francisco Giants July 30th - Starting Soon

Crunch Sports Staff - 30 Jul 2010

The Giants send Lincecum to the mound while the Dodgers have Monasterios.

The Los Angeles Dodgers lost a key series to the San Diego Padres earlier this week and that has seen them fade in the National League West division as they are currently 7 games back of the lead now.  The Dodgers may have to start thinking about the National League Wild Card race and that means their target is definitely San Francisco, the current holder of the Wild Card and LA's next opponent.

The Dodgers and Giants will play the first game of their series tonight from AT&T Park in San Francisco in a game that starts at 10:15pm ET.

The Giants are pretty heavy favorites as Bodog have them at -200.  A big reason for that is that Los Angeles are sending Carlos Monasterios to the mound, a pitcher who only has a 4.55 ERA this season and one who has not had a quality start in a little while.  San Francisco have to feel good about their chances of winning, especially since Tim Lincecum is on the mound at 10-4 and with a 3.12 ERA.

The Dodgers are a vulnerable team on the road as they are just 22-27 on the year and it's not like the Giants are poor at home as they have gone 30-20 from AT&T Park so far this season.

Dodger backers can find a price of +180 on their team with bet365 but our recommendation is to take the Giants to cover the spread with Bodog.  That spread has been set at -1.5 with odds of +114 and a 2+ run victory does seem very plausible in this game.
