In an unprecedented moved, Major League Baseball have taken over the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are worth about $800,000,000 according to Forbes.com and, despite no recent World Series championships, they are the third most valuable Major League Baseball team behind the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox.

That consideration may have prompted Bud Selig's decision to take allow Major League Baseball to take over the Dodgers, as Frank McCourt gets ousted.

According to the front page of Thursday's sports section in USA Today: "Commissioner Bud Selig...stripped the (Los Angeles Dodgers) Wednesday from owner Frank McCourt and announced that Major League Baseball would seize immediate control of the franchise."

A lawsuit against Major League Baseball is expected from McCourt according to the Associated Press.

In the mean-time, "Selig said he would appoint a representative to oversee the business and day-to-day operations" of the Dodgers. McCourt's ex-wife is in the matter as well as she stated: "As the 50% owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers, I welcome the commissioner's actions".
