New York Yankees vs Tampa Bay Rays September 22nd - Major League Baseball Odds

All of a sudden the Rays are facing a critical situation in the American League East standings.

The New York Yankees hold a 2.5 game lead over the Tampa Bay Rays as the Yankees have taken back to back games against the Rays.  With only 11 games to go in the schedules for most teams even small leads are very significant and if the Yankees beat the Rays again today New York will really be in the driver's seat.

Today's game takes place at 7:05pm ET and it will feature Wade Davis of the Rays (12-9, 4.19 ERA) vs. AJ Burnett of the Yankees (10-13, 5.08 ERA) for a pitching match-up.

This looks like a good game for the Rays to get back into contention in the AL East as Burnett takes to the hill for New York.  He's really having a terrible season and you certainly can't have any confidence backing the Yankees with him on the mound, with the losing record and the inflated ERA.

New York backers will find their team priced at -135 (about 10/13) with bet365 and those odds are on the shorter side of EVEN, a fact that makes the Yankees look like an even worse pick.  The Rays, on the other hand, are priced at +125 (5/4) for this game and that is where value bettors should be filtering their money.
