Los Angeles Lakers vs Cleveland Cavaliers NBA Finals

Crunch Sports Staff - 21 Mar 2010

If the NBA Finals are Kobe's Lakers vs Lebron's Cavs, you have to like Lebron and his Cavs.

While neither Cleveland nor Los Angeles can be considered a lock to make the 2010 NBA Finals, both teams are the favorites out of their respective conferences.  With Sportsbook.com both teams have identical odds in the outright winner's market of +140 (7/5) as they share the title of favorite with one another.

If you are thinking of making a pick between these two teams one thing that you should be considering is the fact that Cleveland look like they are going to have the best overall record in the NBA this year.  That certainly is not a lock yet but the Cavaliers have 4 more wins than Los Angeles at this point in the season and there is significance there as we approach the final set of games.

Cleveland are a tough nut to crack on their home court as they are 30-4 straight up in their own building.  When you measure Cleveland's home record versus Los Angeles' away record of 20-13 then you really see the edge that the Cavaliers would have if they made the finals with the home court advantage in the series.  Not only does Cleveland dominate in their own building, but the Lakers, though solid as visitors, are hardly road warriors.

There's more value to be had with Cleveland at +140 than there is with Los Angeles at +140 and if you are looking to top up one of these teams, it should be the Cavs.
