Denver Nuggets Western Conference Odds

Crunch Sports Staff - 6 Feb 2010

We're flip flopping: Denver to win Western Conference title.

The Denver Nuggets defeated the Los Angeles Lakers Friday night 126-113 at the Staples Center.

The result, in the broader context of Denver's high level of play, should be turning some heads in the futures market.  The fact that the Nuggets put up a double digit victory despite being 8 point underdogs, despite being without their best player Carmelo Anthony, and despite playing in Los Angeles should garner Denver more respect in the futures market for the Western Conference title.

While some might say that tonight's result was only one game, Denver have actually been pretty hot lately, even without Anthony in the lineup.

Los Angeles on the other hand, are struggling a little lately as they are now playing below the pace they set for the first 40 games of the year.

Players Only have a couple options for you in the Western Conference futures market:

Denver: +400 (4/1)
Los Angeles: -250 (2/5)

Our recommendation is to take the Nuggets as they are the team heading in the right direction 50 games into the season and they have the more attractive price.

The Utah Jazz at +1800 (18/1) are the dark horse that you can sprinkle as a backup plan but don't be afraid to top-up or pound Denver as they have been very convincing lately.
