Dallas Mavericks Win Game 4 of NBA Finals Over Miami Heat

The Mavericks defeated the Heat in game four of the 2011 NBA Finals on Tuesday to tie the series at 2-2.

The Dallas Mavericks have tied the NBA Finals with the Miami Heat at two games each as Dallas defeated Miami in game four on Tuesday.

The game was a relatively low scoring affair as it ended at 86-83 in the Mavs' favor and Dirk Nowitzki, battling the flu, scored 21 points to lead his team. That effort included 10 points in the fourth quarter as the Mavericks staged another come-from-behind victory.

Dwyane Wade led all scorers with 32 points in the game while Chris Bosh was more than just helpful as he scored 24. Lebron James, surprisingly, had just eight points, a disappointing offensive effort for the player most consider to be the best in the NBA. James did however lead his team in both assists (7) and rebounds (9).

Game five remains in Dallas as the two teams will meet on Thursday night at 9pm ET. The game will be the final home game for the Mavericks in the 2011 NBA playoffs as both games six and seven will come from Miami.

If the Mavericks are to have a reasonable chance to win this series one would expect that they would have to win game five. Heading to Miami down 3-2 in the series would mean they would need back-to-back road wins over the Heat, a scenario that has to be deemed very unlikely.
