Miami Heat hit by injuries

The post-LeBron James era in Miami has been plagued by injuries.

Chris Bosh and Josh McRoberts were the latest casualties for the Heat this season.

Bosh is out indefinitely because of a strained calf while McRoberts will likely miss the remainder of the season as he is set to undergo surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee.

Bosh will surely be missed as he is averaging team-highs 21.6 points and 8.2 rebounds this season. McRoberts, meanwhile, has been plagued by injuries in his first season with the Heat. The power forward averaged only 4.2 points and 2.6 rebounds in 17 games this season, a far cry from his averages when he was still with the Charlotte Bobcats.

Dwyane Wade, on the other hand, is doubtful against the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday after missing Monday’s practice due to illness. The All-Star guard has missed seven games this season due to hamstring problems.

Luol Deng, Norris Cole and Chris Andersen are the other Miami players who have missed games this season due to injuries but all are available against the Nets.

Playing without Bosh, the Heat were walloped by the Chicago Bulls 75-93 at home last Sunday to drop to 11-13 in the Southeast Division.
