NBA – Golden State Warriors eye 17th straight win

Can the Golden State Warriors extend their franchise-best winning run to 17 games when they visit the equally hot Memphis Grizzlies tonight?

The NBA-best Warriors (21-2) made it 16 wins in a row after surviving the New Orleans Pelicans 128-122 in an overtime thriller at the Smoothie King Center on Sunday.

Stephen Curry fired 34 points, including eight in the extra period. The All-Star guard sank six three-pointers and had seven rebounds and seven assists to make up for six turnovers.

Klay Thompson added 29 points while Andre Iguodala contributed 20 off the bench. Draymond Green also made his presence felt, tallying 11 points, 13 rebounds and five assists.

The Warriors remained hot despite missing key big men David Lee and Andrew Bogut.

Golden State is facing a tough test as Memphis (19-4) has won its last four games. The Grizzlies return home after beating the lowly Philadelphia 76ers 120-115 last Saturday.

The trio of Marc Gasol, Zach Randolph and Mike Conley will lead Memphis in this match-up.

This is the first of three meetings between the Warriors and Grizzlies this season. Golden State won their last two meetings.
