Kentucky Wildcats on Shaky Ground vs Tennessee?

Crunch Sports Staff - 13 Mar 2010

Players Only's odds on the game make Kentucky look vulnerable.

The 2nd ranked Kentucky Wildcats face the Tennessee Volunteers in the SEC semifinals on Saturday and many are predicting an upset.  The Wildcats were sort of unconvincing in eliminating Alabama in the quarters, a game that was too close for comfort for Wildcat fans.

Kentucky are coming in as the favorites but one might have thought that the Wildcats would have come in with shorter odds with Players Only even against the 13th ranked Volunteers of Tennessee.

Kentucky to win, -190
Tennessee to win, +165

However, Tennessee have won 5 in a row, including a win over Kentucky so those looking for underdog odds look like they should let a bet fly on the Volunteers here.  Tennessee need this win more than the Wildcats do as Tennessee will want to improve their seed to a 3 seed for the NCAA championship tournament.  Doing that will guarantee that they avoid playing the 1 seed in their region until the Elite Eight besides giving them easier early round competition.
