Syracuse Orange Abandonment for Betting Futures

Shane Lambert - 11 Mar 2010

Injury and loss to Georgetown now make the Orange's short odds worthless.

Betting futures are currently and temporarily suspended with Players Only in the outright winner's market for the 2010 NCAAB National Championship.  However in the last 24 hours the odds for Syracuse to win were at +300 (3/1).  Those odds were probably a little too short to have much value anyways, however with the injury to Arinze Onuaku, a senior center for Syracuse, the Orange's chances of winning the NCAAB national championship could be done for the year.

The status of the injury to his knee is not clear as it may only be a strain but you have to stay away from the Orange at this point anyways.  Onuaku is an important player for the Orange as he has appeared in every game for Syracuse University this year and he averages double digits in points per game and 5.2 rebounds per game despite only playing 22.9 minutes per game.

Consider betting Duke to win the National Championship if the injury is serious as they were priced at +700 at our last update.

Provided that the injury is in fact serious, the only way you can bet Syracuse, who lost to Georgetown, is if they drift out significantly and with all the money already on this team they may not do that.
