Syracuse Orange Odds to Win Big East Conference

The Orange of Syracuse have charged into the top 10 in NCAA basketball.

Players Only are currently offering lines on NCAA Basketball futures for the Big East conference.  You can get your pick in for the team that you think is going to survive the long grind of the complex and deep Big East athletic conference.

With these odds keep in mind that you are NOT factoring in the result of the Big East conference tournament, but rather you are only betting on who will be the number 1 seed going into that tournament.  In short, you are betting on the Big East regular season champion with no post-season considerations.

The Syracuse Orange were clearly underrated during the pre-season.  However since the season began they have done nothing except win and they burst, not just into the top 25, but into the top 10 thanks to their defeat of the North Carolina Tar Heels.

The Orange lead the market to win the Big East regular season championship with Players Only:

1.  Syracuse, +250 (5/2)
2.  Villanova Wildcats, +280 (14/5)
3.  Connecticut Huskies, +350 (7/2)
4.  Louisville Cardinals, +400 (4/1)
5.  Notre Dame, +500 (5/1)
5.  West Virginia, +500 (5/1)
7.  Georgetown Hoyas, +800 (8/1)
8.  Pittsburgh Panthers, +1200 (12/1)
9.  Cincinnati Bearcats, +1500 (15/1)
10. Field (Providence, South Florida, Depaul; +2000 (20/1)
11. St. Johns
12. Seton Hall
13. Marquette
14. Rutgers

The problem with betting this conference is that there are so many good teams available and that keeps the odds pretty short as you have to go SEVEN deep to find a team with odds longer than 5 to 1.  Looking at a conference like the ACC as a contrast you only have to go 3 deep to find long odds.

With so many threats to win and short odds you really have to have a good read on a team in order to pick them.

Our recommendation is actually to bet against Syracuse and go with the Connecticut Huskies at +350 (7/2).  They look like the toughest and most athletic team in the Big East this year  lead by Stanley Robinson.  They are more battle-ready for the challenging Big East conference and they have marginally better odds than Syracuse as well.

Due to the short odds you can only bet one team in this field and our recommendation is UCONN.
