The math 'geniuses' out there will be quick to point out that you are getting bad value on this bet: the true odds of a coin toss are 50/50 yet no matter which way you go, you're getting worse than that. However, this isn't a proposition for the mathematical gambler. It's for someone that just wants to make the game between the Indianapolis Colts and the New Orleans Saints more interesting and fun and putting some money on the coin toss certainly does that.
Truthfully, many of you have probably taken worse mathematical risks in your life. Ever bet on the Chicago Cubs to win the World Series? Ever chased a flush draw that had a 38% chance of coming in in No Limit Texas Hold'em? Ever hit on a blonde bombshell with an $8 drink in hopes that it would lead to something?
If you answered "yes" to any of those questions (be honest), then feel free to bet on this proposition: you have RELATIVELY good odds.
