NHL Carolina Hurricanes vs Edmonton Oilers Odds

Crunch Sports Staff - 2 Feb 2010

Keep betting against Edmonton.

The Edmonton Oilers are having an absolute fiasco of a season and there has been a lot of money in betting against them lately.  Edmonton can't win on the road, they can't win at home, and even when another terrible team comes to town, the Carolina Hurricanes, Edmonton are still a bit of an underdog.

Even if the two franchises are the same and even if the location of the game is the same, this is not game 6 of the 2006 Stanley Cup finals.

Edmonton have 38 points on the year and Carolina have just 45 and it would be a small miracle if either team got to play one post-season game this year.

However, at least Carolina have been playing well lately as they are winners of 4 games in a row and that streak makes them the correct pick in tonight's game.

Our recommendation is to do what 86% of the bettors are already doing: take Carolina to beat Edmonton in their own rink with Players Only, where the Hurricanes are priced at -150 (2/3).

If you want to add a little bit of 'ummmph' to your possible return then there's nothing better than a last second empty-netter to cover the spread.  Pick Carolina to cover at -1.5 to receive odds of +200 (2/1).

Go to Players Only to bet on NHL hockey.
