NHL Minnesota Wild vs Edmonton Oilers Odds

Crunch Sports Staff - 5 Mar 2010

Minnesota are coming in as favorites on the road for once.

The only place in the NHL where the Minnesota Wild would be road favorites is probably Edmonton.  The Wild, despite a dismal road record of 10-21 straight up, are -180 (5/9) to win tonight with Sportsbook.com as they visit the Oilers at about 9pm ET.

For the Oiler faithful, Edmonton are priced at +160 (8/5) as they are just 11-21 on the year at home.

Part of the reason that the Wild are favored tonight no doubt has to do with the shutout victory over Calgary in their last game.  The Wild dominated the Flames in their own rink and as a result Minnesota have to be feeling good about their chances of taking 4 points off of Alberta teams on this road trip.   Edmonton are just 3-7 in their last 10 games and they are the worst team in the NHL this year.

Our recommendation is to take Minnesota to win this game straight up with Sportsbook.com at the price of -180.  Edmonton finds a way to lose and the 2009-2010 campaign is a complete write-off except for maybe having the top draft pick overall.  Minnesota still have a chance to get back in the playoff hunt and that has to be what they are thinking with this game.
