Golden Globe Nominations 2010

James Cameron has been working on Avatar for twelve years, even hiring linguists to help him create an entire lanuage for his characters - and it seems, his work has paid off, as the Oscar-winning director just earned a Golden Globe nomination for Best Motion Picture as well as a nomination for Best Director.

Other Best Motion Picture contenders include The Hurt Locker, Precious, Up in the Air and Quinton Tarantino's Inglorious Basterds.

Morgan Freeman was also the receipiant of a Best Actor nomination for his portrayal of Nelson Mandela in Invictus. Sandra Bullock earned two nominations for her role on The Blindside (drama) and The Proposal (comedy). For Best Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture the nominations are Woody Harrelson, Matt Damon, Christopher Waltz, Stanley Tucci and Christopher Plummer. Best Supporting Actress nominees include Penelope Cruz, Anna Kendrick, Mo-Nique, Vera Farmiga and Julianne Moore.

The television series about a likable serial killer, Dexter, which just ended its 4th season, has been nominated for Best Television Series (Drama) and the lead actor, Michael C. Hall was also nominated for his role. 

Jeremy Piven also earned a nomination for his portrayl of Ari Gold, the fast-talking agent on Entourage. Nominees for Best Television series (comedy or musical) include the new hit, Glee, 30 Rock, Entourage, Modern Family and The Office.
