Wasps vs London Welsh – Teams and Aviva Premiership Match Preview

Wasps vs London Welsh takes place this afternoon in the Aviva Premiership.

The game takes place at Adams Park Stadium and is scheduled to start at 15:15 GMT.

London Welsh are the only team in the Aviva Premiership without a win and they will have their work cut out this weekend as they travel to take on Wasps in what will be an emotional affair.

Wasps are on home soil this afternoon and they are currently fifth on the ladder with 15 points, just five outside the play-off places, while London Welsh are rock bottom of the division with just one bonus point after losing all six of their matches.

Wasps play their 131st and final Premiership Rugby encounter at Adams Park since their debut at the venue against Bristol in 2002.

Wasps last 10 fixtures in Aviva Premiership Rugby have all been won by the home side on the day.

London Welsh have lost all 10 matches they have played in all competions in 2014/15 with their only league point being a try bonus gained when losing 26-53 at Bath in round two of Aviva Premiership Rugby.

The two sides have met on three previous occasions in all tournaments with Wasps victorious each time, including a 29-19 victory on the Exiles only previous visit to Adams Park in October 2012.

New signings Chris Hala’ufia and Opeti Fonua have both been named in London Welsh’s match day squad.

Hala’ufia, who made two appearances for Welsh last month during a two-week loan period, is named at number 8 in one of seven changes from the Exiles’ starting line-up which faced Gloucester Rugby last Sunday in the LV= Cup. Fonua is named among the replacements.

In the backs, Seb Jewell returns at full back and Rob Lewis comes in at scrum half to make what will be his 93rd league appearance for London Welsh.
