Newcastle join Arsenal FC and Liverpool FC in race to sign Kalou - report

Newcastle have reportedly joined Arsenal and Liverpool in the race to sign former Chelsea forward Salomon Kalou.

Kalou was released by Chelsea at the end of the last month and Arsenal are believed to be considering making a move to lure him to Emirates Stadium for next season.

But the 26-year-old has been linked with a number of clubs in recent weeks. Liverpool and Tottenham have both shown interest, while clubs from Italy and Spain are believed to be keen on snapping up the Ivory Coast international, along with Besiktas and former club Feyenoord.

But according to talkSPORT, Newcastle are also considering a move for Kalou as Magpies boss Alan Pardew looks to bolster his attacking options.

Prior to last month's Champions League final win, Kalou had given the green light for Feyenoord to make a move for him.

"Feyenoord can call me any time - they are the first name on my list," he had told The Sun.

"Let me win the Champions League final and then I will think about Feyenoord.

"Yes, I'm serious!"
