Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that Jack Wilshere could return to action next month.
The midfielder is yet to feature this season after undergoing ankle surgery last September, before suffering a stress fracture in his right foot during his rehabilitation.
Last November it was hoped that Wilshere could be ready to return by January, while a first-team return for this month was pencilled in before he suffered the latest setback.
But Wenger has revealed that the 20-year-old is recovering well and could be back in a few weeks time.
"Jack can be back within a month if all goes well," said the Frenchman.
"The recovery of his latest problems looks very good. The latest scan was very positive.
"We go cautiously step-by-step because we tried to push him back quicker in the first instance and he had a setback. So this time we have to be cautious and not go too quick.
"He can be back before then end of the season, of course."
