Kevin Mirallas set to snub Arsenal FC and join Everton FC - report

Olympiakos forward Kevin Mirallas, who has been linked with Arsenal and Liverpool, is reportedly close to joining Everton.

Reports last month suggested both Arsenal and Liverpool had expressed an interest in the Belgium international, who it is believed has a £6.5million buy-out clause in his contract at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium.

And earlier this week, Mirallas claimed his agent had held talks with Arsenal officials about a move to Emirates Stadium.

But according to The Guardian, Everton are closing in on the signing of the 24-year-old, who can play either as a winger or a central striker.

According to Wednesday's report, Mirallas is expected on Merseyside on Thursday to undergo a medical and complete his move to Goodison Park.

Earlier this week when asked if he had spoken to Arsenal about a possible move to Emirates Stadium, the Belgium international had told Sky Sports News: "My manager [has]. Me? No."

He was then asked if a move could happen, to which he replied: "Yes, it's good."

Mirallas also admitted he is interested in moving to England to join compatriot Thomas Vermaelen.

"Thomas plays very good at Arsenal and now a lot of Belgian players are in the Premier League," he added.

"[Moving to England] It's good for me, it's good for my family and it's a good opportunity, but I don't know...it's possible."

Should he join the Toffees, Mirallas would link up again with another Belgian, Marouane Fellaini.
