Arsenal are reportedly keen on signing Shanghai Shenhua striker Didier Drogba.

Drogba's future in China appears to be uncertain amid reports of a power struggle behind the scenes and the club’s inability to pay his huge wages.

It was reported last week that both Drogba and former Chelsea team-mate Nicolas Anelka were caught up in a boardroom dispute over wages, leading to the duo being linked with a return to Europe.

Drogba was linked with a move to Liverpool at the end of last month as manager Brendan Rodgers looked to bolster his attacking options after failing to bring in a replacement for Andy Carroll on transfer deadline day.

But according to The Sun, Arsenal have contacted the Chinese club to enquiry about the possibility of being able to lure the 34-year-old back to London.

Speaking earlier this week, the Ivory Coast international insisted he is not looking to leave China.

And when asked about his first few games with Shanghai Shenhua, Drogba told L'Equipe: "My start has generated good and bad reviews but I've always taken on my choices.

"For the 2013 African Cup of Nations, I will do everything to remain competitive by being in China. Do not worry."

Juventus and Real Madrid have also shown interest.
