Preview:

Milan play host to Arsenal tonight in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie.

Milan are hopeful that goalkeeper Christian Abbiati and defender Alessandro Nesta will both be passed fit to play in this evening's game, while Alexandre Pato and Kevin Prince-Boateng (both thigh) will be assessed ahead of kick-off.

But coach Massimiliano Allegri is definitely without Gennaro Gattuso, Alberto Aquilani, Mathieu Flamini, Rodney Strasser, Alexander Merkel and Antonio Cassano.

Mario Yepes has returned to training but is unlikely to be involved.

Arsenal travel to Italy without Per Mertesacker (ankle), while fellow defenders Carl Jenkinson (back) and Andre Santos (ankle) are still out, along with midfielders Abou Diaby (hamstring) and Jack Wilshere (ankle).

But Kieran Gibbs (groin) is fit again and could start at left-back, allowing Thomas Vermaelen to move across into his favoured central role alongside Laurent Koscielny.

Striker Thierry Henry plays his last match for the Gunners before returning to New York Red Bulls.
