Chelsea FC agree £9m fee with Wigan for Victor Moses - report

Chelsea are reportedly set to sign Wigan winger Victor Moses in a £9million deal.

Chelsea have seen three bids for Moses rejected by Wigan this summer, with Latics chairman Dave Whelan holding out for £10m for the 21-year-old, who is out of contract next summer.

Talks between Whelan and Chelsea chief executive Ron Gourlay took place earlier this week as the two sides looked to try and thrash out a deal for the Nigeria international.

And according to the Daily Mirror, Moses will get his move to Stamford Bridge after Whelan finally agreed to negotiate.

According to Saturday's report, a £9m fee has now been agreed, with Moses now set to discuss personal terms and undergo a medical.

Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel this week said he believes Moses can "make it big" should he complete a move to Stamford Bridge.

"Victor Moses is a good player, we all saw what he did last season," he told MTNFootball.

"I will gladly welcome him and make him feel at home if he comes here.

"It would be a good move for him and I am sure he will make it big here."

Arsenal and Liverpool had also been linked with Moses in recent weeks.

Chelsea, who have already spent over £65m this summer, are also keen on signing a new right-back and a striker before the new season starts next weekend (see Related Articles).
