Ezequiel Lavezzi to snub Chelsea FC and Man City and join PSG in £21m deal

Napoli forward Ezequiel Lavezzi has snubbed Chelsea and Manchester City in order to complete a £21million move to Paris Saint-Germain.

Chelsea and Man City had been keen on signing the Argentina international for some time, while reports in the Italian press last month had claimed Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson was also showing interest.

But Lavezzi is set to complete his big-money move to cash-rich PSG next week after agreeing a five-year deal believed to be worth around £75,000-a-week.

"We hope that the contract will be signed on Monday," confirmed agent Alejandro Mazzoni.

"There are still a few minor details to be discussed by both clubs but everything should be ready by Monday or Tuesday.

"It’s difficult for Lavezzi to say goodbye to Napoli and once the deal will be completed, he will explain his decision to leave."

Lavezzi's Napoli team-mate, Uruguay striker Edinson Cavani, remains a target for both Chelsea and City.
