Chelsea interest in Eden Hazard's young brother Thorgan has been confirmed by Lens.
Eden, who last month joined Chelsea from Lille in a £32million deal, has previously described Thorgan as having more talent than him, and reports on Tuesday morning had suggested the Blues were looking to lure the 19-year-old to West London.
According to reports in France, Thorgan has already told Lens that he is keen on a move to London, and the club's sporting director, Antoine Sibierski, has confirmed that the Premier League club are interested in signing the teenager.
"I've known Thorgan since I arrived at Lens," Sibierski told La Voix du Nord.
"Thorgan is a very good player and I want to keep him. There is a year left on his contract. Last week I met him to discuss an extension for three seasons.
"Of course, all of this was done within in accordance with our current financial situation. He didn't want to accept this proposition.
"After this, we are not taking short cuts. We didn't say that we would have to sell Thorgan to make money as soon as he gets into the last year with us. We do not react like that at all! We want to extend it, first.
"I've since learned that Chelsea are interested in his possible arrival. I can understand why a player would want to leave Ligue 2 to go to Chelsea. We're in discussions.
"Now, like in every transfer with a year left on his contract, it must be paid for. There are also compensation fees for training him."
Like his older brother, the Belgium Under-19 international plays in an attacking midfield role and is comfortable either on the flanks or playing in a central position behind a striker.
