Former FC Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola 'missing football' already

Former Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola, who has been linked with Chelsea, has admitted that he already misses football.

Guardiola, who stepped down as Barcelona coach at the end of last month to take a year-long sabbatical, was Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich's top choice to replace Andre Villas-Boas, who was sacked back in March.

After Abramovich failed to convince the Spaniard to put his sabbatical plans on hold, Roberto Di Matteo was recently appointed as the club's new manager on a two-year deal.

Several other clubs have also shown interest in the 41-year-old, who plans to spend most of the next year living in New York, including Inter and Shakhtar Donetsk.

But just weeks after leaving Camp Nou, Guardiola has admitted he is already missing being part of the game.

And speaking to reporters during a trip to Kuala Lumpur, the former midfielder also joked that he is sick of playing golf.

"Am I missing football? I do miss it actually," said Guardiola.

"I am already tired of playing golf with my father!"
