John Obi Mikel: Chelsea FC target Victor Moses can 'make it big' at CFC

Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel believes Wigan winger Victor Moses can "make it big" should he complete a move to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have already failed with three bids this summer for Moses, who is out of contract in twelve months time and has also been linked with Arsenal and Liverpool in recent months.

The Blues have been told to meet Wigan's valuation with their next bid or walk away from the deal, and Latics chairman Dave Whelan met with Chelsea chief executive Ron Gourlay earlier this week to try and thrash out a deal for the 21-year-old.

It is widely expected that a deal will go through providing Chelsea increase their bid to somewhere in the region of £8m, and Nigeria international Mikel has praised his compatriot.

"Victor Moses is a good player, we all saw what he did last season," he told MTNFootball.

"I will gladly welcome him and make him feel at home if he comes here.

"It would be a good move for him and I am sure he will make it big here."

Chelsea are currently preparing for Sunday's season opener when they take on Premier League champions Manchester City in the Community Shield.

And Mikel added: "Whenever I am on the pitch, what comes to my mind is victory and that's my desire. To win the Community Shield will be good for us, it will put us in good mood ahead of the new season.

"We will get it right and beat City. I have won it before and I want to win it again."
