Chelsea FC prepare final £30million bid for Luka Modric - report

Luka Modric (credit: Wikipedia)
Chelsea are reportedly ready to make a final £30million bid for Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric.

The Croatia international remains high on Chelsea's list of transfer targets, despite the Blues failing with two bids already.

Chelsea last month failed with a £22million bid for the 25-year-old and saw an improved £27m offer turned down earlier this month.

But according to the Daily Mirror, the west London side will make a take-it-or-leave-it final bid worth £30m for the playmaker, who earlier this month submitted a transfer request in a bid to force Spurs to sell him.

Tottenham have thus far insisted Modric will not be sold, with manager Harry Redknapp recently claiming that it "doesn't really make any difference" that the player had officially asked to leave the club.

Modric earlier this month had claimed in an interview with a Croatian newspaper that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy had broken a gentleman's agreement which was struck twelve months ago.

But while the player believes he is entitled to leave Spurs to join a bigger club, Tottenham and Levy continue to insist no such arrangement was made.
