Barcelona forward David Villa will reportedly make his long-awaited return from injury in a pre-season friendly against Manchester United next month.

Villa missed the second half of last season after suffering a fractured tibia last December during the Club World Cup in Japan and also missed Euro 2012.

The Spain international was recently given the green light to rejoin his team-mates in training, and according to AS, he could play in the August 8th friendly against Man Utd in Stockholm.

Speaking last week, Villa had admitted he was eager to get back on the pitch.

"I can't wait for the end of my holidays," he said.

"I passed the review with the doctors and now I must forget the injury and train with the rest of the team, not separate from them as it was before."
