Injuries have hit the England squad ahead of Wednesday night's friendly against Denmark, with Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard pulling out along with Peter Crouch and Ben Foster
Gerrard has withdrawn with a groin injury suffered during Sunday's 1-0 win at Chelsea in the Premier League, while Tottenham striker Crouch and Birmingham keeper Foster were released by England on Sunday night following fitness tests at the team hotel in Watford.
The Football Association have also confirmed that Gabriel Agbonlahor has not joined up with the squad for personal reasons.
West Ham goalkeeper Robert Green and striker Carlton Cole have been drafted into the revised squad by coach Fabio Capello.
Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard could now captain the national side for the first time.
