Everton are believed to be keen on bringing Manchester United striker Michael Owen to Goodison Park

The 31-year-old has been linked with several Premier League clubs in recent weeks including West Ham, with speculation increasing that Sir Alex Ferguson is prepared to let the former Liverpool striker leave the club this month.

Owen has seen his chances of first-team football at Old Trafford become even more limited this season due to the success of summer signing Javier Hernandez, while injuries have also kept him on the sidelines.

With Wayne Rooney and Dimitar Berbatov also ahead of Owen in the pecking order, the striker may look for a move away from Manchester and Everton are in a position to offer him first-team football.

West Ham could also offer Owen first-team football, although with the Hammers also linked with Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor and Tottenham's Robbie Keane in recent weeks, it appears that it's Everton who are favourites to sign the former England international.

A loan deal to either club is a possibility with transfer funds believed to be limited at both Goodison and Upton Park.
