FC Barcelona, Real Madrid CF on alert as Santos admit Neymar could be sold

Barcelona and Real Madrid are on alert after Santos admitted Neymar could leave the club before his contract expires.

Neymar has been linked with the two Spanish giants for some time, while Chelsea have also shown interest in luring him away from South America.

The 20-year-old last year snubbed a move to Europe, instead putting pen-to-paper on an improved three-year deal with the South American giants that ties him to the club until after the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

It has widely been thought that Neymar, who is valued at around £40million, would move to Europe at some point before his contract expires.

Luis Alvaro Ribeiro has always insisted that his prize asset is not for sale, but now the Santos president has admitted that the forward could leave the club before then - and possibly next year.

Speaking to Tuttosport, Ribeiro said: "He will not leave until at least next year, but we are interested in talking with the clubs that want him.

Ribeiro recently revealed that Juventus had joined clubs in the race to sign Neymar, and despite many expecting him to move to Spain, he added: "It is not just Mourinho's Real Madrid; Barcelona, Juventus, Chelsea and PSG also want him."

Who will Neymar sign for when he moves to Europe? Have your say below!
