Gareth Bale is reportedly ready to snub a move to Barcelona this summer and stay at Tottenham.
Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola is said to have put the Wales international at the top of his list of transfer targets, along with Santos striker Neymar.
But according to the Daily Mirror, Bale will reject any advances from Camp Nou to remain at White Hart Lane next season.
On Wednesday it was reported that the Catalans were ready to sell Isaac Cuenca to north London rivals Arsenal to help fund a bid for the 22-year-old, who has admitted he is interested in playing in Spain at some point in his career.
But the £40million-rated winger, who is under contract with Spurs until 2015, is prepared to wait before seeking a move away from the Premier League.
Last week it had been reported that Guardiola has sent scouts to watch Bale no fewer than seven times this season, while reports in Spain had suggested Barca official Andoni Zubizarreta had already been in touch with Tottenham to discuss a possible deal.
Earlier this week, however, Zubizarreta insisted that he had not held talks with Spurs and told El Mundo Deportivo: "It's not true that I have been in London negotiating with anyone.
"I have already said a thousand times that 90 per cent of [our] 'signable' players are at Barca or in the youth team."
Real Madrid and Manchester City have also shown interest in signing Bale.
