Victor Valdes: Neymar would be a hit at FC Barcelona

Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes believes Neymar should join the club after being impressed by the Santos striker's Olympic performances.

Neymar has been linked with a number of top European clubs in recent months, with Barca, Chelsea, Juventus, and Real Madrid all believed to be keen.

Barcelona are widely seen as favourites to sign the 20-year-old should he eventually move to Europe, and Valdes admits he believes the Brazil international, who is currently playing a starring role for his country at the London 2012 Olympic Games, has the ability to play at the very highest level.

"I have discovered Neymar by watching the Olympics," he told reporters.

"I always said that a player with a special talent can fit into any team.

"He does things that only he can do. This is valuable for any team and especially for a team like Barcelona."

Santos president Luis Alvaro de Oliveira Ribeiro earlier this week insisted the sought-after forward, who is valued at around £40million will not be sold until his contract expires in 2014 (see Related Articles).
