Liverpool FC target Xherdan Shaqiri set for £10m move - report

Bayern Munich are reportedly set to beat Manchester United to the signing of Basel winger Xherdan Shaqiri this summer.

Shaqiri is believed to be a target for both United and Premier League rivals Liverpool, but reports in Germany last week had suggested that Bayern were looking to enter talks with Basel with a view to completing a deal at the end of the season.

And according to Kicker, the Bundesliga giants are set to agree a fee in the region of £10million for the Switzerland international.

The 20-year-old, who last month saw a move to Galatasaray fall through, has previously stated he is keen on a move to the Premier League.

But his agent, Erdin Shaqiri - also Zherdan's brother - recently revealed he believed move to Munich could be best for the player.

"Right now, Bayern is the best club for Xherdan, but it is clear that he can only develop further abroad," Erdin told Basler Zeitung

"He must take the step this summer, because to play four times in the Swiss league against the same teams isn't enough."
