Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is ready to bring in loan signings from abroad this month as he continues to be linked with the likes of Gaston Ramirez, Joe Allen, and Clint Dempsey.
Bookmakers on Friday suspended betting on Allen joining Liverpool this month (see Related Articles), with the Swansea midfielder already believed to have agreed personal terms with the Reds.
Fulham midfielder Dempsey is also on Rodgers' radar, while the club have been linked with Bologna winger Ramirez for some time.
The 39-year-old recently revealed he hopes to complete "a number of deals" before the new Premier League season kicks off on August 18th.
But he admits he is ready to make some temporary additions to his squad should he be unable to land his top targets.
"There is nothing imminent, and it may take one or two moves [elsewhere] to spark everything off," said Rogers.
"I have also looked at one or two loan deals from abroad. There are some quality players in that market that I have enquired about."
The forward boss also assured fans that new signings will be made before the end of the month.
"I want players in sooner rather than later - it is important to get the group together as quickly as possible," he added.
"But if not, then I'd be happy as long as we have some in before the end of August.
"The make-up of the group will change before the season starts and that will change the dynamic of the team also."
