Liverpool are reportedly considering making a bid for Atletico Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente, who has been linked with Chelsea.

And according to The People, Liverpool are also keen on Newcastle forward Demba Ba and Aston Villa's record signing Darren Bent.

Liverpool are widely expected to bring in at least one forward this month as manager Kenny Dalglish looks to add to his options in attack, and Saturday's 0-0 draw at home to Stoke was the latest game in which the Scot has seen his side struggle in front of goal.

Llorente has impressed in La Liga for Bilbao, with his performances also leading to interest from Real Madrid and Tottenham, while reports in Italy late last year had suggested Chelsea were considering a January bid for the Spaniard.

According to Sunday's report, Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina and Maxi Rodriguez have praised the forward this season in talks with the club's hierarchy.

The Reds' interest in the 26-year-old, who is valued at around £20million, dates back to the start of last year.

Llorente is one of a number of players on Dalglish and director of football Damien Comolli's radars, but despite the interest in Ba and Bent, neither are likely to be sold until the end of the season at the earliest, although Aston Villa have admitted that they will have to sell before they can buy new players, which could open the door to a move before the end of this month.

Talk of a deal for Llorente will lead to further speculation that record signing Andy Carroll could be on his way out of Anfield after failing to settle since his £35million move from St James' Park twelve months ago.
