Liverpool FC considering bid for Real Madrid CF's Hamit Altintop - report

Liverpool are reportedly considering a summer bid for Real Madrid midfielder Hamit Altintop.

Altintop was linked with a move to Liverpool last summer prior to his free transfer move from Bayern Munich.

The 29-year-old has failed to establish himself at the Bernabeu under Jose Mourinho this season and according to Metro, he is once again on Liverpool's radar.

Reds boss Kenny Dalglish is said to be showing interest in the Turkey international as a possible replacement for Dirk Kuyt.

Kuyt has already admitted he could leave Anfield this summer, with Bundesliga outfit Hamburg showing interest along with several other clubs in Germany and Italy.

Last summer, Altintop called moving to Madrid "a dream", but after being restricted to only a small handful of first-team appearances had last year criticised Mourinho and indicated he was ready to quit the club.

The versatile midfielder has three more years on his Real Madrid contract, but it is thought Los Blancos could be open to letting him leave the club as they look to strengthen their own squad over the summer.
