Andy Carroll NOT in Liverpool FC squad to face FC Gomel

Andy Carroll has not travelled to Belarus with the Liverpool squad for tonight's Europa League qualifier against FC Gomel.

It had been reported that Carroll had been included in the Liverpool squad for their Europa League opener, but the 23-year-old did not fly out of Liverpool with his team-mates on Wednesday morning.

Carroll staying in England will only lead to further speculation about his future, with West Ham trying to sign the 23-year-old and former club Newcastle also keen.

Reports in the past 24 hours have suggested Liverpool and West Ham have agreed a deal for Carroll, although the striker is not keen on moving to London.

It is believed the Hammers have agreed a £2million loan fee with Liverpool for their £35million forward with the option to sign the England international in a £17m deal at the end of the season, providing they stay in the Premier League.

Carroll is not keen on leaving Liverpool on a permanent basis, and is understood to have told friends that he will only consider a move away from Anfield should he be able to secure a return to Newcastle.

Should he have played in the game in Belarus, Carroll would have still been able to play for another club in the Europa League this season.

According to a newspaper report on Wednesday morning, West Ham are prepared to offer Carroll a massive £100,000-a-week deal to leave Liverpool and move to Upton Park this month (see Related Articles).
