Arsenal and Liverpool have been put on alert as Daniel Sturridge is reportedly considering his future at Chelsea.
Reports in recent weeks have suggested that Sturridge is unhappy at Chelsea, largely due to manager Andre Villas-Boas playing him in a wide role this season.
A report in the Daily Mail earlier this month said Arsenal had taken "significant steps" towards making a shock summer move to sign Sturridge, while Liverpool and Manchester City are also believed to be keen.
Sturridge's father last week called for Villas-Boas to play the 22-year-old in a central role, while according to The Sun, the England international is considering a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer should Chelsea fail to qualify for next season's Champions League.
A friend of Sturridge's was quoted as saying: "Daniel will be distraught if Chelsea finish outside the top four - he's desperate to prove himself at the highest level and that means he wants Champions League football, not Europa League."
Chelsea slipped to fifth in the Premier League at the weekend after losing 2-0 at Everton - a result which led to a training ground showdown between manager Andre Villas-Boas, his players, and owner Roman Abramovich on Sunday.
Providing he is still in charge at the end of the summer, Villas-Boas is widely expected to spend big and has been linked with several top strikers, meaning Sturridge's current wide role is likely to continue should he remain in west London next season.
