Inter Milan could hijack Man Utd bid for Lucas Moura - report

Inter Milan are reportedly preparing to try and hijack Manchester United's bid to sign Sao Paulo starlet Lucas Moura.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson recently confirmed his interest in Moura and Old Trafford officials have been in Brazil recently to try and thrash out a deal.

But Inter have shown interest in the 19-year-old for some time, and according to Corriere dello Sport, the Italian giants will try and work out a deal for the playmaker while he is at the Olympic Games with Brazil.

Moura's agent, Wagner Ribeiro, earlier this week confirmed his client was keen for negotiations with United to continue, while Sao Paulo vice-president Joao Paulo de Jesus Lopes invited Ferguson to lodge an increased bid for the teenager as the South Americans hold out for their valuation - thought to be £30million - to be met.

As talks behind the scenes continue, Moura this week admitted he was happy for his agent to take care of things while he concentrates on trying to win a gold medal with Brazil.

"I am focusing on my team, Sao Paulo and in Brazil's national team at the moment," he told Spanish news agency EFE.

"I'll decide my future after the Olympics.

"It's already a victory to be here. Now I have to be ready for any situation if Mano Menezes believes I have to play."

Chelsea have also been linked with Moura.
