Manchester United have launched their new away kit for the 2012-13 season.

United's new away kit was launched in Cape Town on Friday at The Castle, South Africa’s oldest surviving building, set against Table Mountain.

The Red Devils' away shirt for the new season comprises white shirt, black shorts, and white and black socks - a colour scheme that has been used for the club’s second strip for some time now.

United were in South Africa for the start of their pre-season tour and on Saturday, they drew 1-1 with Ajax Cape Town in a friendly.

New signings Shinji Kagawa and Nick Powell both played in the game, which saw United score a late equalier through Bebe.
And the two new additions to the United squad caught the eye of manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

"Shinji was very good," he told MUTV.

"He's an intelligent footballer, quick and has his head up all the time. He knows when a pass has to be made and I'm pleased.

"Nick Powell is a talented boy. He missed some training and 30 minutes was just stretching him a bit in terms of sharpness but the boy is a very good talent.

"We showed a reaction to losing the goal. We increased the pace in our game and could maybe have got a winner. It was a satisfying perfomance, a competitive game and a great atmosphere. Now we've got 16 hours' travel [to Shanghai] and we need to recover from that first of all."
