Man Utd target James Rodriguez would choose Spain over move to England

Porto winger James Rodriguez, who has been linked with a move to Manchester United, has revealed he is keen on playing in Spain.   United were linked with Rodriguez earlier this summer and are believed to see him as a potential replacement for Nani, should the Portugal international’s contract talks at Old Trafford break down.   The 21-year-old is unlikely to be on his way out of Porto before the summer transfer window closes next week, and although he has previously stated that a move to Manchester would appeal, the Colombia international has now said that he would prefer to play in La Liga should the opportunity come his way.   “I’m very aware that I’m still young and have a lot to learn, but I would eventually like to play in Spain,” Rodriguez told FIFA.com.   “It’s a league that I’ve always watched – it’s different from the English League, which is very physical.   “The game in Spain is more about technique, and about getting more touches on the ball. That’s why I like it so much.”   Rodriguez has four years left on his contract at the Estadio do Dragao.
