Tottenham playmaker Luka Modric, who has been linked with Manchester United and Real Madrid, is reportedly set to move to the Bernabeu and join Madrid in a £25million deal.

According to AS, Spurs have agreed to budge on their £40m valuation of Modric and will sell for an initial £25m, plus add-ons which could take the deal above the £30m mark.

Man Utd had been keen on signing the 26-year-old, while Chelsea had remained interested after having several bids - including one worth £40m - rejected by Tottenham last summer.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy had insisted Modric would not be allowed to leave White Hart Lane unless their asking price was met, but former Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp had earlier this month claimed Levy told the playmaker LAST YEAR he could move to Spain this summer.

"I would not be sure Luka would start the season at Tottenham," Redknapp told The Sun.

"The club would be happy to sell if they get the right money.

"The chairman said to him last year 'Give us one more season and if Real come in, I won't stand in your way'."

New Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas has already started the search for replacements and is believed to be keen on signing Rennes midfielder Yann M'Vila (see Related Articles).
