Arsenal captain Robin van Persie is reportedly set to make a dramatic U-turn and stay at the club.
Van Persie last month stated he had no plans to sign a new contract at Arsenal, and with his existing deal expiring next summer, it has been widely expected that he will leave Emirates Stadium this month.
Manchester City, rivals Manchester United, and Juventus are all keen on signing the 29-year-old and last month all had bids rejected by the Gunners, who are refusing to let their skipper leave for less than £20million.
It is believed all three clubs made offers worth less than £15m.
Van Persie has always insisted that money was never a factor in his decision to quit the Emirates and that a lack of ambition was his main reason for wanting to move on.
And according to the Sunday Mirror, Arsenal officials believe the recent signings of Lukas Polodski and Olivier Giroud, in addition Malaga midfielder Santi Carzola, who is set to join the club in the next few days, will lead to the Netherlands international withdrawing his transfer request.
Manager Arsene Wenger is also looking to sign Nuri Sahin on loan from Real Madrid before the new Premier League season starts on August 18th.
Van Persie is set to join his Arsenal team-mates for this week's pre-season training camp in Germany, with many at the club of the impression that his decision to fly out of London on the trip is a significant one.
Man Utd at time of writing remain favourites with bookmakers Sky Bet to win the race to sign the 28-year-old this summer, ahead of Man City, and Juventus.
AC Milan, Barcelona, and Real Madrid have also shown interest.
