Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves could reportedly move to the MLS this summer to join Vancouver Whitecaps or Toronto FC

The 30-year-old has struggled with injury over the past few years and after a bright start to his United career following his £17million move from Bayern Munich in 2007 has spent more time on the treatment table than on the football pitch.

A number of injuries have led to him making just one Premier League start since August 2008 and it seems unlikely that United boss Sir Alex Ferguson will offer the Calgary-born player a new contract at Old Trafford.

According to Caughtoffside.com, the England international could be offered the chance to return to Canada, with Vancouver Whitecaps and Toronto FC both showing interest in the midfielder.

Providing he can return to fitness and stay clear of injury, there's no doubt that Hargreaves would be an excellent addition to many sides and a move to the MLS - and the chance to return to North America - may well appeal to the player, especially as it currently looks unlikely that a Premier League side would be willing to take a gamble on him given his history of injuries.
