Agent confirms Man Utd want Shinji Kagawa AND Robert Lewandowski

Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski is a target for Manchester United, his client has confirmed.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson and assistant Mike Phelan were both in Germany on Saturday to watch Dortmund's German Cup final win over Bayern Munich.

It was thought the duo were there to watch attacking midfielder Shinji Kagawa, who has been on United's radar for some time and is thought to be closing in on a move to Old Trafford.

But reports in Germany on Sunday claimed that Dortmund defender Mats Hummels and Polish striker Lewandowski were also being watched.

And Lewandowski's agent, Maik Barthel, has revealed he is aware of interest from the red half of Manchester - and has confirmed that his client has snubbed Dortmund's offer of a new contract.

"I can confirm that the offer of Borussia Dortmund is insufficient," Barthel told Bild.

"I am also able to confirm an interest of Manchester United in the services of Robert Lewandowski."

Lewandowski, who is under contract until 2014, has previously been linked with Chelsea and Liverpool.
