Friday's round up of the top transfer stories from the past 24 hours...

- Luka Modric will spark a battle between Manchester United and Real Madrid by submitting a written transfer request in the next week, according to The Sun.

- And Man Utd's chances of signing Modric may have been given a boost after Nuri Sahin ruled out acting as a makeweight as part of Real Madrid's bid for the Tottenham playmaker.

- Chelsea are closing in on the signing of Fiorentina forward Stevan Jovetic, according to La Gazetta dello Sport.

- Liverpool are keen on signing Lyon goalkeeper Hugo Lloris as Pepe Reina continues to be linked with AC Milan, according to Le 10 Sport.

- Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini is demanding that Arsenal captain Robin van Persie is made the club's top transfer priority, according to the Daily Mirror.

- Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel, who is believed to be a transfer target for Manchester City, admits he is aware of the speculation surrounding his future, but insists he has not received any offers.

- Porto insist they have not received an offer from Paris Saint-Germain for midfielder Joao Moutinho, who has also been linked with Chelsea.
