With the 2012-13 Premier League season about to get underway, Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney and his soon-to-be team-mate Robin van Persie are being tipped by many to be top goalscorer.

Bettingpro.com tipster Raymond Doyle looks at the latest odds ahead of kick-off in the Premiership this season and tries to pick out a winning bet for punters...

At time of writing, Rooney and Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero lead the market with bookmakers, although they are closely followed by Van Persie, who on Thursday is expected to complete a £24million move from Arsenal to Old Trafford.

Liverpool have persuaded Luis Suarez to sign a new contract and the Uruguay international is 16/1 to make amends for his profligacy and indiscretions last season by shooting his way to the top of the charts, providing some tasty each-way value to be had.
