Atletico Madrid midfielder Diego has told Neymar to snub Real Madrid and Chelsea and join Barcelona when he eventually leaves Santos.
Neymar has been linked with a number of clubs from across Europe in recent months, with Inter Milan, Manchester City and ambitious Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala all believed to be keen on signing the 19-year-old, who is widely expected to be on the move next year.
And although Real Madrid are favourites to sign the exciting Brazil international, Diego, who came through the ranks of Santos' youth academy, has advised the teenager to reject a move to Jose Mourinho's side and instead move to Camp Nou.
"For the way Barcelona play and for his development, I think they would be the best option for him," Diego was quoted by ESPN as saying.
"But he could go to Real Madrid because they always buy the best players.
"Neymar is a special player with qualities difficult to find. He's different.
"He is well on track and well advised. I would advise that he takes advantage of the remainder of this period to learn from, and listen to, the people who are really his friends.
"He is very talented and his career is going well, now he just needs to burst onto the world stage." .
Despite the interest from European clubs, Corinthians president Andres Sanchez recently claimed his side are also in a position to make an offer for the player if and when he decides to leave Santos.
