Glen Johnson and Kyle Walker targets for Real Madrid CF - report

Real Madrid are reportedly lining up summer bids for Liverpool defender Glen Johnson or Tottenham's Kyle Walker.

According to the Daily Star, Jose Mourinho has made the Premier League duo his top right-back targets after deciding that former Liverpool defender Alvaro Arbeloa is not up to the job.

And the Spanish giants are said to believe that they will be successful with an offer of £16.5million for either of the full-back's.

Johnson has been on Madrid's radar for some time, with reports late last year suggesting Mourinho had met with club president Florentino Perez to discuss a bid for the England international.

And while 21-year-old Walker is unlikely to be sold by Spurs after an excellent season for the north London club which has seen him break into the full England squad, Johnson's situation is different.

The 27-year-old has struggled with injury at Anfield this season, and with the Merseysiders planning big changes at the end of the season, it is thought that he could be available if the price is right.

According to Thursday's report, Los Blancos will make a decision on which player to step up their interest in at the end of the season.
